Maestro FELIX MAK – Orchestral Conductor

Maestro Felix Mak is an orchestral conductor and composer from Hong Kong, recognized for his artistic leadership and international engagements. He has conducted numerous orchestras both locally and abroad, establishing a distinguished presence on the global music stage. His musical approach is characterized by a refined integration of Eastern and Western artistic perspectives, with a focus on expressive phrasing, tonal balance, and emotional depth.
A graduate of Osaka University of Arts, Maestro Mak further developed his musical career across Asia and Europe. During his studies in Japan, he was awarded professional musician certification by the Japanese Government in recognition of his outstanding academic achievement.
Throughout his career, Maestro Mak has held several prominent positions, including Artistic Director of the Hong Kong Fantasia Symphony Orchestra, Chairman of the Hong Kong Youth Music Performers Association, and Vice President of the Global Chinese Pop Music Association. He has also served as guest conductor for numerous orchestras and school ensembles in Asia and Europe, with extensive experience leading large-scale symphonic productions as well as orchestral and choral collaborations.
In addition to his conducting career, Maestro Mak has been an active educator and speaker. From 2014 to 2018, he was invited as a guest speaker at the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at The Education University of Hong Kong. In 2019, he was appointed Overseas Professional Music Advisor to the Österreichischer und Chinesischer Förderverein für Musikerziehung und Kulturaustausch (OCFMK), an official music institution in Austria, following professional evaluation and recognition by the internationally renowned conductor Maestro Michael Halász. He has also served as a jury member for the ACPAF International Music Competition in Europe since 2021, and as an adjudicator for the Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition since 2023.
Maestro Mak has performed extensively in Salzburg, Vienna, and Germany, collaborating with world-class musicians. He has appeared at the prestigious Großer Saal (Golden Hall), one of the world’s most renowned concert venues, and was invited to perform at the United Nations Headquarters in Vienna in 2024.
